Group Therapy

What is Group Therapy?

Group Therapy is based upon a small group of members that share similar experiences and are usually facilitated by two therapists. The group meets weekly for an agreed amount of weeks, to work through issues that have been set by the group in the initial stages. Group Therapy can significantly improve your life as well as having a lasting impact. There is mounting evidence to support that group therapy is successful in helping clients.

What can I expect from?

Groups can be formed for any issue such as depression, sexual abuse or anger management to name but a few. Although there are many gains to be made from participating within the group, the feedback that we hear the most is the sense of relief that clients feel when they are able to share similar experiences and realise that they are not the only ones that feel a certain way or are having a certain reaction to something. This is a very powerful shift for a lot of people who may have previously felt isolated or alone with their situation.
